## Installation and upgrade
Install or upgrade from this archive through Admin CP > Add-ons, or upload the contents of `upload` into the forum directory and install/upgrade in Admin CP. Enable **Replace images and view previous versions (requires edit permission)** for the intended user groups in Media Gallery permissions.
## Scope and limitations
Replacements support eligible uploaded images, excluding mirrored/shared attachments, embeds, video, and audio. History access follows current replacement/edit permissions, including edit time limits. History retains previously displayed file bytes; it does not restore all metadata or provide a one-click rollback. Existing annotation coordinates remain unchanged.
History remains until permanent media deletion or uninstall. This release has no automatic history pruning. Native quota displays and normal gallery uploads exclude history; this add-on includes retained history in its own replacement quota check. Public attachment URLs may require a browser/CDN cache refresh after replacement.
