# Frequently asked questions
## Does this need Resource Manager or Media Gallery?
No. Talmyric Real Estate is a standalone XenForo add-on. Core forum facilities supply accounts, permissions, conversations, alerts and global search.
## Which XenForo versions are supported?
The target is the XenForo 2.3 series, minimum 2.3.0. Validation used 2.3.13 and PHP 8.3.28. Earlier 2.3/PHP runtimes and other custom add-on combinations need staging checks; see COMPATIBILITY.md.
## Why can't a new member add or edit a listing?
Set the real estate user-group permissions. No grants are automatic. Authors normally need View, Submit, Edit own, Delete own and Upload. ACP administrator permissions are separate. See PERMISSIONS.md.
## Who can see drafts and unpublished listings?
Drafts are author-only, including in Trash. Pending/rejected/removed ordinary listings are visible to their owner and authorized listing moderators. Public results and maps exclude unpublished/expired/trash content.
## What happens when I delete or restore a property?
Delete moves it to private Trash, retaining media and details. Restore returns ordinary listings for approval, or drafts to private editing. Permanent deletion is a separate irreversible confirmation and removes the timeline/media too. Older permanently deleted records cannot be recovered by this feature.
## Why didn't an alert arrive?
Check the account's Alert preferences AND the individual favorite/search switch. Price/status alerts exclude the listing owner. Confirm the listing is public and unexpired and that XenForo's job runner is processing cron. Changes between checks are consolidated; changing Available → Sold → Available before a check leaves no net status change. Existing favorites initially establish a baseline silently. Run the matching ACP cron task to test an eligible event.
## Do sold/rented listings hide old price alerts?
No. Earlier price alerts remain visible while the listing is public and unexpired. New price alerts are generated only for Available listings. Private, deleted or expired content is hidden from public-content alerts.
## Can I upload PDFs and videos?
PDF floor plans can be uploaded from a saved listing's detail page: 10 files, 20 MiB each. Server upload/POST limits still apply. They are downloads, not rendered previews. Images have a separate 20-file limit, 5 MiB each and 6000×6000 maximum dimensions. Videos are YouTube/Vimeo links with click-to-load embeds; direct video uploads and Vimeo privacy-hash links are not included.
## Do I need a map API key?
Basic listings need no map service. Maps are optional. Location lookup uses Geoapify when configured; manual coordinates are available. Tile/service availability and provider terms are external dependencies.
## Does history show all previous edits?
No. It starts after the history upgrade and tracks core changes/actions with actor/time and price/status deltas. It is not a full description/custom-value revision archive and does not backfill older events.
## Does currency selection convert prices?
No. Each property stores its currency. Filter to one currency before comparing prices. Area/lot units are not converted either.
## Can an agency share edit rights among staff?
Not yet. Current agencies group public profiles; listing ownership and user permissions still control editing. Team roles are a roadmap item.
## Are paid listings, featured placement or MLS feeds included?
No. These are possible future phases, not features of this release. See ROADMAP.md.
## How do I roll back or uninstall?
Restore a matched database/files backup for rollback. Uninstall deletes add-on tables and property media. Trash does not protect against uninstall. See INSTALL-UPGRADE.md.
