One compose form
Add normal and BCC recipients together. When BCC is used, everyone on the delivery list receives an individual two-person DM with you.
A XenForo conversation add-on
Send once to multiple members, then continue privately with each person. Conversation BCC handles the individual DMs, so everyone can reply right where they are.
XenForo 2.3.0+ / PHP 7.4+ / Permission controlled

Built for private follow-ups
Useful when several members need the same initial message, but every follow-up belongs in a private conversation.
Add normal and BCC recipients together. When BCC is used, everyone on the delivery list receives an individual two-person DM with you.
Recipients reply directly in the conversation they received. Your response reaches only the person in that conversation, with no manual second DM.
Each recipient sees only you and themselves as participants. Other recipients’ names stay out of their conversation, including for admin recipients.
A sender-only sidebar shows the original distribution list with clickable usernames. Each individual DM keeps its own unread status and notifications.
Choose which user groups can send BCC messages. XenForo’s recipient privacy checks and combined recipient limits still apply. Invitations are disabled in the resulting DMs.
Initial attachments are associated with each individual conversation. Messages sent without any BCC recipients retain XenForo’s normal conversation behavior.
The conversation flow
The first message is shared as individual copies. Everything after that stays in its own private conversation.
You’ll see one inbox entry per recipient. After sending, the first individual conversation opens.
Enter your normal recipients and BCC recipients, add a title, and write the initial message.
Each person receives a separate conversation containing only you and them. They can reply immediately.
Reply inside their inbox entry. Your message goes only to that individual, with no reply-all across the original delivery.
Frequently asked questions
Delivery, privacy, upgrades, and the details that matter before you send.
No. When you include BCC recipients, the add-on automatically creates an individual conversation between you and each recipient. You send the initial message once.
No. With new BCC sends from version 1.1 onward, they reply directly inside the conversation they received.
Replies go to the participants in the individual conversation you have opened. There is no reply-all function across the original distribution.
Everyone—including the normal recipients—receives an individual conversation with you. If you leave BCC empty, XenForo creates a normal conversation.
Each conversation contains only you and that recipient. The original delivery list is visible only to the sender. Admin recipients have the same recipient-list privacy restrictions.
You will have one conversation per recipient. After sending, the first conversation opens; the other copies appear in your conversation list. Open the matching person’s entry to reply to them.
Invitations are disabled for conversations created through BCC delivery, keeping each conversation between its original two members.
No. The add-on uses XenForo’s normal recipient validation and applies the recipient limit to the combined delivery list. Sending BCC also requires the add-on’s user-group permission.
Not currently. Re-enter the BCC usernames when returning to a draft.
Existing shared broadcasts remain locked and retain their private-reply link. Automatic individual conversations apply to new BCC sends from version 1.1 onward. Send a fresh message with BCC to use the new behavior.
The declared minimum is XenForo 2.3.0, with PHP 7.4 or newer. Development checks used XenForo 2.3.13 source; other versions have not been verified through live testing.
The available StaffAway source showed no overlapping class extensions. Live coexistence testing is still needed with the installed version and customized style.
Install the newer archive through XenForo’s Add-ons area without uninstalling the existing version first. Version 1.1.1 fixes the save-pending error in version 1.1.0 by preparing delivery metadata before validation.
