Frequently Asked Questions

Does everyone share one conversation?

No. When you include BCC recipients, the add-on automatically creates an individual conversation between you and each recipient. You send the initial message once.

Do recipients need to start a new DM to reply?

No. They reply directly inside the conversation they received.

Can my reply accidentally go to everyone?

Replies go to the participants in the individual conversation you have opened. There is no reply-all function across the original distribution.

What happens to the normal recipients when I also use BCC?

Everyone—including the normal recipients—receives an individual conversation with you. If you leave BCC empty, XenForo creates a normal conversation.

Can recipients see the other recipients?

Each conversation contains only you and that recipient. The original delivery list is visible only to the sender.

What will appear in my inbox?

You will have one conversation per recipient. After sending, the first conversation opens; the other copies appear in your conversation list.

Can someone invite another member?

Invitations are disabled for conversations created through BCC delivery.

Does it bypass messaging privacy settings or recipient limits?

No. The add-on uses XenForo’s normal recipient validation and applies the recipient limit to the combined delivery list.

Are BCC recipients saved in drafts?

Not currently. Re-enter the BCC usernames when returning to a draft.

What happens to broadcasts created with version 1.0?

Existing shared broadcasts remain locked and retain their private-reply link. Automatic individual conversations apply to new BCC sends from version 1.1 onward.

Which XenForo versions does it require?

The declared minimum is XenForo 2.3.0, with PHP 7.4 or newer. Development checks used XenForo 2.3.13 source; other versions have not been verified through live testing.

Is StaffAway supported?

The available StaffAway source showed no overlapping class extensions. Live coexistence testing is still needed.
